Spray Painting Space
Ryan, one of my students from last year, stopped by to give the art one class a quick lesson in spray painting. And when I say quick, I mean quick! Each one of these space paintings took about 3 minutes to create.
First they spray painted where they wanted the planet to go. They would use 3 colors, like red, orange and yellow. Then, while the paint was still wet, they would pat the paint with newspaper to create the streaks in the planet.
A can or bowl was then placed over the planet and dark colors were sprayed around it to create the feeling of deep space. The final touch was spray painting white onto a finger and then flicking the finger over the painting to create the stars... remove the can and ...
