Personality Portraits

Second PhotoShop project. They each took photos of themselves with a frame. They could then change either the inside, outside, or both backgrounds of the frame as long as it showed a part of their personality.

Meet Your Sister School

Oakridge Secondary in London, Ontario and Apex High School are sister art schools! We will be working on the same sketchbook assignments and even collaborating on projects.



This week's non self portrait portrait will be a way for you to introduce yourself to the students at Oak. They in return will do the same.

Next week we will be working on portraits using photos of the Oak students.. and guess what? They will be creating portraits of you.

Masking Tape Murals 2

Working in teams, we created masking tape murals throughout the school.



Yesterday we created thumbnail sketches of our ideas and then we practiced using the tape by creating images on the table. Today, we went into the halls and onto the walls..

We've talk a lot about line.. drawn a lot of line drawings.. contour line.. blind contour line... but to really draw with line, we should use something straight.. like tape.

Newimals

The objective was to creatively and skillfully, combined two (or more, but less is more) photos of animals into one single animal image.

Drawing Turtles

Today, we took turns rotating around the room from turtle to turtle. Each table had 15 minutes to draw their turtle before rotating to the next.

Since I never named the turtles, the class decided to name them for me. The snapping turtle's name is now Cupcake....

Animal Hands

We drew contour line drawings of our hands... we drew blind contour line drawings of our hands... we even had a "draw hands" homework assignment... Enough contour line drawings of our hands!!

So today, we took out some tempera paint and painted animals on our hands based on our sketchbook drawings.
