We splurged and got linocuts for every Art One student here at Apex HS Art. How very exciting! Yes, I know. For the topic we choose animals and textures.
To begin, each student had to sketch several animal drawings. They picked one and used a view finder to decide on a nifty composition.
They transfered their composition and created a final drawing in black and white.
The final drawing, which was completed in marker will now be transfered to the linocut..
The linocut will be inked.. the ink will be printed.. the prints will dry and then iIll post some of those pictures here on our exciting blog!
